Sharjah Airport International Free (SAIF) Zone is a highly developed free-trade zone in the UAE with more than 6,000 companies operating from the zone. The low cost of doing business in Sharjah has boosted industrialization and making it a competitive commercial hub. The facility of 100% foreign ownership, repatriation of capital and profits and exemption from income and corporate taxes has allowed SAIF Zone to grab investors from more than 90 countries.

Air Arabia is the first low-cost airline in the Middle East, owned by Sharjah, which operates to the Middle East, Asia and Europe. The airline is headquartered in the Sharjah Freight Center located at Sharjah International Airport.
